Short everyday Mandarin conversations between two voices, a new one each week, newest first. Each has its recording, a full transcript and English meanings.
How to practise
Listen shows only the Chinese, Words adds pinyin above each character and each word’s meaning, and Full gives pinyin and the meaning phrase by phrase.
- Listen once with little or no English, and catch what you can.
- Turn on more help, or open the transcript, to check the meaning.
- Replay each sentence and say it aloud, slower if you need to.
Pinyin is generated with each script, reading every character in context, with tone marks as the words are spoken: 一 and 不 change tone before another syllable, and light syllables carry no mark. Readings may occasionally differ from what you hear; they are a guide, not a pronunciation reference.
The conversations aim for A2-level everyday language. Scripts, translations and voices are AI-generated and can contain mistakes.
